Its very rare when i come across a movie that is so influential that it leaves me contemplative. What is it about aging that rings a bell of panic!? Is it a constant reminder on how life is limited? Or noticing that wrinkle under our left eye while brushing our teeth sends a shock to our brian to re evaluate our lives and wonder if we're content on who we are at the moment? The point to "view life positively as we grow older each day" is a recurring factor in the movie, as we are reminded to measure the success of your life by the thoughts and memories you have collected. In the movie you follow Benjamin on his quest of growing up and growing young at the same time. I came to realize that life isnt as deserving if we had the power to reverse time...but actually its the same result as aging normallly. Through out the movie he soaks in life and learns to not sweat the small stuff, to not hold onto anger and resentment; because at the end of the day our lives are limited.
Maybe it hit too close to home at times during the movie but some parts really help you take a step back and cherish the small wonders in life and be fortunate to be surrounded by people who care for you, that family bond, friendship, bff, loved one or however you want to call it......its those things that far exceed any materialistic object in this world, hell we're not perfect, so sometimes we need to be reminded of that; especially now during a time of financial anxiety. The reverse aging factor was a chance for the audience to realize that its no different than growing old physically. when it came down to benjamin as a little boy and daisy as an elderly woman, physically they were both at the same stage if you think about it....you witnessed first hand both of them growing "old" together. Bottom line is, living at age 65 can be as much fulfilling as age 25; just live your life to the fullest. who cares what you have!? all that matters is how happy you have become. Why spend time worrying about change when change is just another form of growth.
We all grow up sometime. Oh yeah, I forgot to say....watch the movie!
Thank you for wasting 4 minutes of your life reading my review, I now feel extra special =D
